Most people think that all you have to do when smoking a Cuban cigar is you simply pick it up, put it in your mouth and off you go. They think it's not a big deal and it's just something you can go about lighting like you would normally do at least when it comes to a Cigarette or something. After all, Cuban cigar 'holding' is an art on it's own.

Cuban cigar smoking is such an art and so is Cuban cigar holding. Most people don't even know how to light a Cuban cigar. Did you know that if you took a normal lighter to your Cuban cigar, you just damaged 90% of your Cuban cigar taste. You must use wooden matches or butane free lighters. See that is just lighting the Cuban cigar, yet there is so much more to this great pastime.
So what is the proper way of holding a Cuban cigar? I'm glad you finally asked that question because the answer may surprise you and might even shock you a little. The proper way of holding a Cuban cigar isn't just putting it in your mouth. Their is a lot more than what meets the eye. It is a true art and the person doing it right stands out like a light house on a dark night.
The best way to hold your Cuban cigar is by forming a lock or a clamp on your cigar. However, this lock or clamp should just be enough to hold the cigar in a steady manner and not damage the cigar. This clamp shouldn't be loose or you might drop your Cuban cigar and than too more damage than you ever imagine. Form that clamp or the lock by bringing in your thumb under the cigar and placing your index and middle finger on top.
You see their is so much to Cuban cigars in general that it will boggle your mind. No wonder that their are thousands upon thousand of books written on this ever so sacred tradition. So now that you know how to smoke and hold a Cuban cigar, I suggest you get one and get the best kind, you won't regret it.
