As a Blogger it is a good idea to hop on board the DoFollow movement. Because Blogger and WorPress come with nofollow built in you will have to do a little work (it’s easy work) to change your blog to DoFollow.

Google Blogger users:
Go into your Blogger back office then;
* Click on Layout .
* Click on the Edit HTML .
* Check the “Expand Widget Templates Field” upper right hand corner of the HTML.
* Press CTRL+F and a search box will appear then do a search for
attribute.

* Delete and remove all instances of rel=”nofollow” from the template code.

WordPress is the same way and No-follow has to be disabled by either using a DoFollow plug-in or by removing nofollow from the code.

If you are commenting for backlinks make sure the blogs you comment on are if they are no-follow blogs, as the majority of new blogs are, you will not gain a backlink.

Look for pages on a blogs that have a Page rank of 2 or above. Just remember that it will take 4 times the effort for your comment to rate on blogs with a rank of 1-3 than it will for blogs of 4 and above. You can get an idea of how Page Rank works here,

3. You need to vary your anchor text and keywords.

If you are trying to gain to a site for Affiliate marketing you will want to use keywords such as “Internet Based Affiliate marketing, Home based business ideas, legitimate home business, and so on. Use different keywords in the Name Field of your comment and always change them up. Do not use the same text over and over again. Be sure your anchor text is descriptive.

4. Do not put links to your site in the context itself

Adding links in your comment text is considered Spam and can get you banned from many blogs.

5. Be consistent with your commenting.

Search engines like to see a steady consistent growth with backlinks. They need to look natural. Don’t just build thousands of backlinks over night. Instead build 10 or so everyday.

5. Make sure you comment respectfully and insightfully.

The blogs you want to comment on are DoFollow and will give you the desired backlinks. When commenting make sure your comment is relative to the post and not just “great post or some such wording. Your comments should reflect the subject of the post and they should show you have read the article. Show the Blog owners respect by commenting respectfully.

Do not put links in your comments. Using keywords and then linking them uis simply comment spamming and is very disrespectful. It can also get you banned from the blog and many blog communities. If you get labeled as a spammer it will be hard to overcome. You can use your Keywords in the “Name” Field and it will automatically be linked to your website. Just make sure you are using a link strategy and do not use the same keywords every time. You can put your name in the same field as your city and State when appropriate.
